Biography:
Francesco Vergani is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at King’s College Hospital, London. He graduated from the University of Milan (Italy) with Honours. He completed his neurosurgical training between Milan and Newcastle upon Tyne, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2013. 
During his training, he spent one year as a research fellow in Montpellier (France) working with Prof Duffau. Mr Vergani has developed a special interest in neuro-oncology, with a focus on the surgical treatment of tumours in eloquent areas of the brain and advanced brain mapping techniques. His main research interest is in brain connectivity, having completed a PhD on the study of white matter connections. 
He is Author of more than 35 papers, published in high impact journals, including the most important neurosurgical journals. In 2015 he received the prestigious “Young Neurosurgeon Award” from the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS).
